WARNING: Nation’s Third-Largest Brewery Issues Massive Beer Recall In 36 States

The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company has issued a recall for select bottled beers in 36 states plus Washington D.C. due to a packaging flaw that could cause glass to chip and fall into the liquid.

The Huffington Post says the flaw poses the risk of injury.

According to the company’s statement, the recall is voluntary and applies to eight craft beers:

  • Pale Ale (12-ounce bottles in 6,12 and 24-pack cases)
  • Torpedo Extra IPA (12-ounce bottles in 6,12 and 24-pack cases)
  • Tropical Torpedo (12-ounce bottles in 6-pack cases)
  • Sidecar Orange Pale Ale (12-ounce bottles in 6,12 and 24-pack cases)
  • Beer Camp Golden IPA (12-ounce bottles in 6,12 and 24-pack cases)
  • Otra Vez (12-ounce bottles in 6-pack cases)
  • Nooner (12-ounce bottles in 6-pack cases)
  • Hop Hunter IPA (12-ounce bottles in 6,12 and 24-pack cases)

The statement also says the recall applies to beer purchased in AL, AR, CT,DC, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI and WV.

Customers are instructed to dispose of the beer and contact Sierra Nevada for details on receiving a refund at 800-596-7835.
